In this letter, I intend to outline my general likes and dislikes in fic, as well as provide potential prompts, ideas, or inspiration to you regarding the fandoms and pairings I have requested. Please feel free to pick and choose, or combine, any of my likes and prompts below as you see fit. If I have written more prompts and ideas for some fandoms/pairings than others, please don’t read into this as me preferring one over the other. Sometimes I can think of many ideas to write down in these letters, and other times I struggle to think of anything at all.

The most basic thing about me is that I will read and enjoy any story if it is driven by considered characterisations and has a happy or hopeful ending. The only exception to this is my DNWs, obviously. So please remember - the prompts and ideas in this letter serve only as a guide and as inspiration for you, if you want it. If, instead, you have an idea that you’ve been wanting to write for a while, and it doesn’t involve my DNWs, then please feel free to take this opportunity to write it! Furthermore, I don’t have a preference for the rating of a fic - I’m equally excited to receive G, T, M or E fic. I am also happy to receive PWP if that is where the Muses take you.

One last thing: this letter is by no means a complete list of everything I enjoy reading or would want to receive in a fic. So if you’re feeling unsure, or want clarification from me, about anything in this letter (or about tropes/genres etc that I haven’t included in this letter), then please feel free to ask me about it via the exchange mods. Smut likes
If you’re not planning to write smut, then please feel free to skip this section totally. But I’ve tried to be as detailed and thorough as possible here, because I personally can get a bit nervous writing smut for others in fanfiction exchanges, so probably others get nervous about it too, and hopefully by giving you a very detailed list I can allay any potential uncertainty.
So here is a whole bunch of kinky shit I enjoy reading, as long as all the characters involved are enjoying it (even if they may be pretending not to, as a part of consensual roleplay/power dynamics play). I'm totally fine with dubcon: from no explicit consent, to like, "character A started out not liking it but they are enjoying it by the end", and everything in between. Just no noncon please (which I define as a character feeling unhappy and not enjoying or wanting the sex at all, for the entire fic). And when it comes to smut, you really don’t need to worry about being “too explicit” or “too specific”. I’m 100% down for any and all detailed descriptions of fucking that you may want to write.

I like it when the pain is brief and enhances the ongoing smut; I don't enjoy when the pain is the main part of the sex scene.

Request 1: Heartstopper
Characters: Charlie Spring/Nick Nelson

I loved this show partly because it was quite cathartic to watch. It’s really nice to watch LGBTQ+ people and relationships being open and validated in high school, because that was unfortunately not my experience.
One thing I’d love to read in Nick/Charlie fic is just like… them being your normal English teens. I think this is something the show portrays fairly well - it tries to keep the acting quite realistic to teenagers. I’m not a huge fan of shows where the teenagers act and look like grown adults (why not make the show about adults, then?) I like how Heartstopper characters speak mostly “normally” without a lot of the heightened exaggerated TV trope dialogue. So, I’m very much interested in reading about Charlie and Nick being just your average English teens. Walking or catching bus to school, texting and reading in class, sitting huddled with friends at lunchtime on a freezing winter’s day and deciding to skive off hockey training that afternoon, ducking into Tesco’s for cheap crisps after school instead, organising a movie marathon sleepover with friends and taking lots of silly funny photos at 12am. The "mundane" is both exciting and comforting when you're a teen and I'm very open to reading any slice of life story that explores this.
I’m also, of course, interested in reading about Charlie and Nick’s romance! Happy for literally anything - missing scene from the first season, post-season fic about the growth of their relationship, a cute date that they go on, etc. I would love to read about their genuine connection, joking together, talking about shared interests, generally any conversation between them would be lovely.
One other thing that I’d love to read is Charlie and Nick exploring physical and sexual intimacy with each other. At their age and stages in life, everything is new and exciting. For them, the simple touch of a hand on bare skin can be world-shattering, and I love that. There’s something so exciting and sexy about when characters are discovering physical and sexual intimacy, when their senses are just so heightened. I would love to read any exploration of Nick and Charlie getting to know each other’s bodies, relishing and luxuriating in the thrill of hugging, cuddling, kissing, touching each other. And then, of course, as they start exploring each other’s bodies, they start to discover their own kinks, as well as their partner’s…
As per my DNWs, I am perfectly happy to read smut of characters aged 16+, and Charlie turns 16 during the first season, so if you’d like to write smut for Nick/Charlie, please go ahead, I’ll love it!

Request 2: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
Characters: Adora/Catra

She-Ra is one of the very few TV shows I actually watched in 2021 and it’s become one of my favourites. It makes me emotional to think about having such amazing LGBTQ+ characters in a children’s show. The dynamics between Adora and Catra are just so gripping to watch! Season 5 in particular is a masterpiece of character development!
I would love to receive a story that explores any point of the canon. Missing scene fic? Fill in the gaps between seasons fic? Post-episode fic? I would love any and all of it. I feel like there’s so much potential - whenever I rewatch the show I am just filled with inspiration even from watching a couple of episodes.
Canon divergence fics are totally awesome too! What if, for example, after season 1 - or 2, 3 or 4 - a different chain of events happened and Catra and Adora reconciled earlier? I especially think about this after the end of season 1. What if they just… Oh I don’t know… SPOKE TO EACH OTHER?! :D I can totally imagine Bow and Glimmer scheming to trap Catra and Adora together for long enough for them to actually talk out their issues. Even one conversation could skew the course of events.
Post-canon fics. Wow, I am so interested in reading post-canon Catradora fics. There’s so many routes you could take. Immediately post-canon, the aftermath of the final battle, the first days of restoring their lives - how does that go? I would love to read about all the healing between Adora and Catra and how they begin to navigate a relationship together. What I also can’t stop thinking about is how much they hurt each other in the show, during seasons 1-4 in particular. Especially how much Catra tried to deliberately hurt Adora (and Adora is certainly not innocent here either). So perhaps a post-canon fic could explore how they learn to communicate better with each other and find healing and forgiveness for their past actions?
Physical intimacy is something I crave to see when it comes to Catradora and I’d love to read a story that explored this. Catra and Adora start touching each other a whole lot more in the 5th season - how do either (or both) of them feel about this? What does it feel like to touch and hug each other? Is there late-night cuddling? Soft, gentle forehead kisses? Post-canon, do they start touching EVEN MORE?
It seems to me, just from the range of Catradora fic that I’ve read, that there is a spectrum of opinion regarding how many cat characteristics Catra exhibits. I’m fine with whatever your personal headcanon is. I know I have bestiality/animal play on my DNWs, but I really feel like Catra is different to either of those things. Personally I headcanon retractable claws, for smut purposes. (You can see where my priorities are.) Other than that, I’m flexible. I do love how expressive her tail is - how Adora can probably tell a lot of Catra’s moods if she learns to read not only Catra’s face but her tail too. I love the idea of Adora getting shivers up her spine when Catra trails her tail along Adora’s arm, or something. Or you could just touch on the cat characteristics briefly or not at all. I don’t mind!

Request 3: The Mandalorian
Characters: Din Djarin/Luke Skywalker

I really, really enjoyed the TV show and I have a big soft spot for Din/Luke. Everything about them together is so… soft? Like you wouldn’t think so at first because Luke is The Most Powerful Jedi and Din is The Most Badass Mandalorian but… they are so soft together. They have a lot to relate to one another in terms of found families. I think they can bond over the similarities in their pasts. I think they are both at heart quite empathetic people and it means that they come to understand each other very deeply. I love that!!!
I have a respect kink for this pairing lol. Yes, when they first met Luke got to see Din’s face. But after that? Luke is so respectful of Din’s desire to keep his face hidden. He always turns away and gives Din privacy. Luke completely understands and respects that he may never see Din’s face again. THIS IS SO GOOD!!! And I bet Din is very touched by it. How do they manage their first kiss? How does Din finally reveal his face to Luke? Does he wrestle with this decision? Does it happen when he asks Luke to be a part of his clan, or - when they get married? (SPACE MARRIAGE?!)
Speaking of space marriage - I requested this pairing in the 2021 Just Married Exchange. If you read the letter I wrote for that exchange here on my Dreamwidth, you can find a whole bunch more of marriage-related prompts for this pairing. I haven’t copied them all out here because they’re attached to like 10+ different freeform tags and thus it is quite long. But the prompts are fun and I’m 100% down to read about any aspect of Din and Luke getting married - for love, or maybe for Marriage of Convenience reasons, etc etc!!
I’m so curious to think about how Din and Luke’s relationship would progress after the end of season 2. What happens after Grogu goes with Luke? There are so many options to explore. Are they reunited quickly, at Grogu or Luke’s request? Does Din try to hold out the urge to go find them, but eventually can’t stop himself? Does Din arrive at the Jedi training camp expecting to be allowed only a quick visit, but then Luke invites him to stay as long as he wants? I’m really interested in any exploration of how their relationship develops!!
Here’s a thought: sparring sessions between Din and Luke? Does Luke help Din to learn to wield the darksaber? How does Din feel about the darksaber?
On that note, I do like to think that Din and Luke have a big competence kink for each other. I would love to read about them admiring the skills of the other. Luke being so impressed by Din’s commitment to training, his sheer skill that comes from DECADES of hard work. Likewise, I would love to read about Din’s thoughts regarding Luke and his mastery of the Force. Maybe they both get off on it too… it’s up to you!
